Intel: Light Peak kill USB
Top-manager of Intel's Kevin Kahn (Kevin Kahn) said at a forum for developers in Beijing, that the standard Intel Light Peak may eventually supplant USB 3.0. USB 3.0 bandwidth of 5 Gbit / s and Light Peak – 10, which, according to Kahn, the latter will occupy a dominant position in the next few years. According to the Intel , Light Peak will be available to producers at the end of this year and first delivery device with its support will begin no earlier than 2011.
In the Light Peak capacity can seriously reduce the number of connections inside the computer and between computers and peripherals. Some believe that this standard actually came up with Apple.
