Next week will be determined by the location of Russia's "Silicon Valley"
Yesterday a meeting of the Commission on a draft for an integrated center for research and development – the so-called innograda, which is sometimes also referred to as Russia's silicon valley. The meeting was held, President Dmitry Medvedev. Most discussed the location of the center. Among the candidates: the Moscow region (districts of Novo-Riga and Leningrad highway), Saint-Petersburg, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Dubna, Obninsk. The final decision on this matter will be accepted after 10 days.
Important role in the selection of the region will play the transportation infrastructure and proximity to the existing scientific centers. In this regard, the most preferable is the Moscow region. Perhaps that is why the meeting was attended by Governor of Moscow region Boris Gromov. Other heads of regions in the commission no.
