Internet on phones replacing SMS
In the market research firm AC & M-Consulting reported that last year the revenues from mobile operators associated services (different content and Internet access) grew by 27% to 122.3 billion rubles.
It is important to both: the share of services in total income of operators also increased (from 14,9% to 18,8%), indicating that the growth of their popularity. To access the Internet operators for the first time earned more than the sale of content: 36.4 and 32.4 billion rubles. respectively. At the same time revenues from SMS-messages has grown by only 4% (up 49.8% billion).
According to the "MegaFon" in several regions of SMS-messages on the yield is inferior to the mobile Internet access. This is due primarily to the development of 3G and sales growth, USB-modems.
In the MTS notice that subscribers use SMS less frequently, which can explain the development of online forms of communication: first, it is social networking, chat rooms and ICQ.
