Almost half of Russians have access to the Internet
All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center regularly examines the level of internet penetration and spread of computer technology among our countrymen. The results are impressive. Thus, while in 2002 only 9% of Russians had a home computer or laptop, then in 2010 they had almost half – 46%. The same applies to Internet access: in 2002, the overseas gimmick was available only 4% of the population, today it is 38%.
It is also interesting how the use of internet "standing at attention" to own a computer: as can be seen from these figures, eight years ago, less than half of all owners of the PC went on the Internet, but now this makes them an overwhelming majority.
In addition, Internet use has become much more frequent. In 2006 only 5% of Russians went into it every or nearly every day, in 2010, is already 23%.
Number of people who do not use the Internet , today is 60%. Most often it does at home – 82%. At work, surf the Internet while only 13% of respondents.
Incidentally, in 2002 only 7% have a cell phone, and now owns 81%.
