Blu-ray discs now contain 128 GB
Association for Blu-ray Discs approved two new standards intended to increase capacity and extend the functionality of the carriers of this type.
Standard BDXL enables you to record up to 128 GB on one-time bars and up to 128 GB – on the space shuttles. On these discs will be recorded for up to four layers, which would increase and the volume of data, and recording quality.
The second standard is called Intra-Hybrid Blu-ray Disc (IH-BD), it is possible to place both types of data: and rewritable, and disposable. According to the association, this standard is designed for "consumer applications, in which you want to publish their own content along with user data on one volume."
Unfortunately, both of these standards will not work on those players Blu-ray , that's for sale today: they want to produce new models. When this happens is still unknown.
